Fableism Supply Co

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Ask and you shall receive.

General

What are your recommended washing instructions?

Machine wash cold.  No chlorine bleach.  Tumble dry on low heat.  Remove promptly.  Our fabrics are 100% cotton and all cotton fabrics will shrink on average 3-5% upon washing.  Please plan your projects accordingly.

Should I prewash my fabrics?

Generally this is a matter of preference.  Our advice is different for garment sewists and quilters.  We recommend prewashing fabric if you are sewing garments – make sure to wash them in the matter you intend to care for the finished garment.  For quilting this is more a matter of preference, however we notice that most quilters prefer NOT to prewash their fabrics.

What are your fabrics made from?

All Fableism fabrics are woven with 100% cotton yarns, unless otherwise noted in the product listing.  Currently our Everyday Chambray fabrics are a cotton and bamboo blend.

How wide are your fabrics?

All of our fabrics are 44/45 inches / 110 centimeters wide, unless otherwise noted in the listing.

How many yards are on a bolt?

A standard bolt comes with 15 yards.  However, the quantity of yardage may vary slightly, and will be reflected on the final invoice.

Where are your fabrics made?

Our fabrics are dyed and woven in India.

How can I get in contact with you?

You can email us at hello {at} fableism.com or call our office at 805-460-6801.

  •
Are your fabrics treated with chemicals?
Our fabrics do not use any hazardous chemicals or dyes.  They do not contain PFAS, flame retardants, antimicrobials, phthalates, or formaldehyde.  They are also free of heavy metals, and our dyes are AZO free.  The only process after manufacturing they go through is they are washed with water and fabric softener.
Are Fableism fabrics appropriate for garments?

Yes!  Our fabrics are made to cross over between quilts and garments.  Garment makers should take note to pre-wash/pre-shrink yardage before cutting out their pattern, as our fabrics are 100% cotton and will shrink on average 3-5%.

Can I use Fableism fabrics for children's sleepwear garments?

Our fabrics are not treated with flame-retardant chemicals and are not intended for children’s sleepwear.

I'm a designer, can I use Fableism fabrics in my own quilt or apparel patterns?

Absolutely!  We would be greatly honored for you to use our fabrics.  We just kindly ask that the fabrics are credited to Fableism Supply Co.

Can I manufacture with Fableism Fabrics

Absolutely!  However, Fableism Supply Co is not responsible for any products produced with our fabrics including Children’s sleepwear as this violates US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Children’s Sleepwear Regulations.  Please get in contact with us for large-scale manufacturing projects.

Can I purchase ROT yardage? (Rolled onto Tubes)

I’m sorry we do not offer ROT packaging at this time.  All fabrics come D&R (Doubled and Rolled) on cardboard bolts.  If you are special ordering in large quantities, ROT yardage can be arranged.

How can I sign up for your newsletter?

You can sign up for our Fableism Newsletter here.

Can my shop be added to your stockist page?

Stockists will be added upon approval, and must meet minimum order requirements.

What is considered to be a flaw in the fabric?
Our fabrics are subjected to a thourough quality check before dispatching and most often fabrics are sent in pristine condition. However, occasionally we receive fabrics with minor flaws that we might miss.  We’re only human afterall. 🙂  Flaws can be small discolorations, small weaving slubs, or flecks.  The integrity of the original cotton plant will inevitably be visible in parts of the fabric from time to time. We do not consider these things to be flaws but rather to be considered as a unique and beautiful part of their character and overall appeal of the fabric.  If you believe you’ve received a fabric with a corruptible flaw, please email us a picture and we will proceed to find the best solution.

Pricing and Taxes

What is your MSRP?

Our MSRP is double that of the wholesale price.  Please understand that the MSRP is established to allow all retailers a fair profit.  Should retailers advertise a price lower than the MSRP within the 90 days after the initial release date, they risk termination of their wholesale account.

Do you offer payment terms?

We do not offer terms at this time.

Do I have to pay tax on my order?

No.  If you are an approved wholesale account, you do not have to pay sales tax.  Wholesale prices do not include any customs duties, sales, use, value added, excise, federal, state, local or other taxes. All such duties or taxes shall be paid by customer and are not the responsibility of Fableism Supply Co.
