Introducing Fableism Supply Co!

December 8, 2021

I’m so thrilled to introduce our brand new wholesale company Fableism Supply Co.! This has been a dream of ours for years, and to see it finally coming to fruition is a blessing beyond words. From the beginning of our career we’ve loved woven fabrics, of course we love prints just as anyone does, but wovens hold a special place in our hearts. They are versatile, timeless, and cozy! If you’ve ever cuddled a quilt made out of woven fabrics, you know exactly what we mean. There’s a certain comfort in the drape of a woven fabric, a softness, a squish factor that is just unbeatable. When we set out to create our brand, we knew we had some requirements to meet:

  1. The fabrics had to be 100% natural fibers.
  2. The hand had to be soft, yet durable.
  3. The colors had to be PERFECT!
  4. The color options had to be plentiful!

When it comes to color, we are inspired by God’s beautiful creation. He already made all the best colors didn’t He? We looked at countless photographs of scenic hillsides, blooming wildflowers, and running streams, to come up with a palette of 28 colors that evoke our natural surroundings. Our color palette tends to lean toward the dusty side, meaning a bit less saturated than most fabrics you’ll find on the market today. We find these colors to pair nicely together, but also evoke a sense of calm and peace. We like to call them earthy. ๐Ÿ™‚

This leads me to answer the question we so frequently get: where did you come up with the name Fableism? When we were deciding on a name for the business we knew it had to evoke a sense of timelessness. And what could be more timeless than a fable?ย  The inherent beauty of the natural settings, the lessons we learn which stay with us all our lives. Our wish is for our fabrics to live life with you, just beneath the surface. When you sew with our fabrics, when you wear the garments you’ve created, when you dream up a fable of your ownโ€”your own life story, wrapped in color, lived in textureโ€”tales told by cloth.

Here at Fableism Supply Co., we hope to serve the quilting and apparel industries with beautiful 100% cotton textiles. If you have a business in the sewing/quilting/fashion industry and are interested in opening a wholesale account, you can find our application the wholesale page.

Here’s a bit more to know about Our Sprout Wovens:

  1. Fiber: 100% cotton
  2. Width: 44/45 inches wide (110 cm wide)
  3. Weight: 125 gsm
  4. Put Ups: 15 yard bolts

Here’s a little cheat sheet to see all Sprout Woven colors!

I’m typically a member of Camp PreWash EXCEPT for FQ’s. I’m looking at some FQ bundles of the Sprout Wovens and am concerned that they ought to be prewashed before using and so for me, I probably should stick to buying yardage.

Any advice on shrinkage of the Sprout Wovens?

    Thanks!

Hi Linda! I typically recommend pre-washing for all 100% cotton fabrics, because they all shrink a little bit. For smaller pieces like fat quarters, you can wash inside a “delicates” bag to reduce fray, or overlock/zig zag the edges to reduce fray. There really are two schools of thought on the prewash conversation, so many would say not to prewash. If you decide not to prewash you will get those puckers in your finished quilt, but many find those charming, including us! So it’s really just a matter of your preference. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love your fabrics and recently purchased a few fat quarters while on vacation. Do you have any patterns for a table runner so I can try them out?
